New York- December 2010

We celebrated my birthday and Christmas in New York.  What a trip!  The best and the worst NY trip ever.

The good:
I celebrated my birthday in Manhattan where Steve surprised me with tickets to a Cirque du Soleil show.  We sat on the 2nd row and the show was unbelievable!

We got to spend the holidays with family.

We shared the news that we were expecting a baby.

The bad:
I threw up in my sister-in-law's car on Christmas Eve just before we made the announcement that I was pregnant.  Not that there was any need to make an announcement at that point.

Steve got the flu.

Severe snow storm blasted the Northeast cancelling our flight for at least three days.  Steve had to work so he drove through the blizzard with the flu.  Once the snow cleared, I drove through the night.  A 15-hour trip took 21 hours.

When working with preschoolers who are developing language skills, it's helpful to use vocabulary cards.  I guess the company that prints the cards didn't want to be accused of copyright infringement?  Good thing my little ones they can't read.  Crust?  Seriously?

Funny dinner

Steve is a great cook and does his fair share of cooking at our house.  Usually we enjoy his meals enjoyed on weekends when he has time to cook.  I don't remember the particulars of this dinner except that it was a week night and I couldn't make dinner.  If you've ever been the beneficiary of one of his meals, this one is in such stark contrast that I had to take picture!  This was from a couple of years ago, but it still makes me laugh :)  And to boot, I don't really even like pepperoni!  (The result of working in a pizza shop once upon a time.)
